Hi, I’m Sahina, a lifelong creative with over 10 years of teaching experience as a high school and middle school English teacher. I first learned how to sew in middle school through a Home & Economics class where I made pajama pants and pillowcases, and not long after, I became the designated hemmer for my petite mom’s nursing scrubs. Sewing has stayed with me ever since - from college projects to handmade baby quilts, wedding guest dresses, and even a Chargers-inspired sweatsuit for my husband (Bolt Up!).

After moving across the country from NYC to San Diego, I rediscovered my love for sewing and the joy that comes from creating something by hand. Around that time, I learned that my late grandmother had been a seamstress in Haiti, and that connection made sewing feel even more personal to me.

What I offer is individualized instruction tailored to your goals. Whether you want to learn basic sewing skills, make a cute garment that you can’t afford, or tackle a project you’ve been dreaming about - I’m here to help! My goal isn’t just to teach you an important life-long skill, it’s to give you confidence to keep creating long after our sessions are over :)
